Duties

Served on board the university's training ship as a chef (longest continuous service)3The position will be for approximately one month and will involve cooking meals for faculty, staff, students, etc.

*We may order you to relocate as necessary for work.

Qualifications

  1. Those who are qualified as a chef or ship's chef, or who have the potential to obtain such qualifications in the future.
  2. Person with Japanese nationality
    Foreign nationals must have a residence status that does not restrict their activities in Japan. They must have a level of Japanese language proficiency that does not impede working on a training ship.

However, the following persons cannot apply.

  1. A person who has been sentenced to imprisonment or a heavier punishment and has completed the execution of the sentence, or is on a suspended period of execution of the sentence, or has not yet been subject to the execution of the sentence.
  2. Persons who have been dismissed for disciplinary reasons or have received a similar disciplinary action, and for whom two years have not yet passed since the date of such action.

Salary

Salary rules for university staff apply (calculated based on career history)

Monthly salary: Starting salary 273,240 yen (for high school graduates. Regional allowance included.)
Allowances: housing allowance, dependent allowance, etc. (provided if prescribed requirements are met)

Year-end/diligence allowance, retirement allowance (paid according to length of service)

Working hours and holidays

(1) Working hours: 1 hours per day while at sea, 8 hours 1 minutes per day while at anchor
(2) Holidays: 1 days on average per week (varies during voyage), annual paid leave, and other leave systems
